Howard Miller Clocks - A Short History

Howard Miller Clocks Company is headquartered in Zeeland, Michigan (USA) with additional manufacturing facilities in Germany. The company manufactures longcase, or grandfather, clocks and bills itself as the "World's Largest Grandfather Clock Manufacturer."

The company was founded in 1926 as the Howard Miller Clock Company. It started life as a division of the office furniture company Herman Miller. In 1937 Howard Miller Clocks spun off from it's parent with Herman Miller's son Howard as its leader. Despite the fact that the two company headquarters sit across the street from each other, there are no formal ties between the companies today.

A private firm, Howard Miller Clocks is presided over today by Phil Miller, it's president, and enjoys a strong share of the grandfather, grandmother, and other longcase clocks market.

Please forgive me for posting a video before I get to the introductions but I found this really great video about Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks. It is an ad for a furniture store in the Carolinas but the gentleman in the video does an awesome job of showcasing several different styles and models of Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks.
